Enclosure Air Conditioners
Our industrial air conditioners are specifically designed for consistent performance even in high ambient temperatures. Enclosure cooling units can be installed in various industrial settings, including harsh and challenging conditions. Furthermore, a complete range of factory-installed accessories and options is available, allowing for a tailored cabinet cooling solution to enhance performance in specific applications. To explore these options, check out our full line of enclosure accessories. In situations where the ambient air can effectively remove the required heat, a basic fan or blower may suffice.
Many of our sealed enclosure cooling units come equipped with a programmable thermostat, offering precise and flexible enclosure cooling capabilities. Utilizing a separate "hot key," they can also be set up for remote monitoring and alarm notifications via Modbus protocol. Depending on the model series, sealed enclosure cooling can be maintained for NEMA Enclosure Ratings of 12, 3R, 4 & 4X.
The Guardian/GuardianX and SlimKool cooling units are designed for both indoor and outdoor applications without necessitating weather shielding. The popular Guardian/GuardianX Series provides the widest selection of models, sizes, and BTU/H outputs, along with NEMA 4 and 4X Ratings, as well as various voltage options including 480 Volt. The SlimKool Series is particularly created for mounting on electrical enclosures with limited vertical space, a common challenge in numerous industrial applications. These are also offered in NEMA 4 and 4X configurations and include a 480 Volt option. Our patented Hazardous Location Series supports enclosure cooling in areas requiring NEC class 1, Division 1 & 2; these units leverage the existing purge system of the cabinet. For indoor cabinets necessitating small capacities, the Micro-Mini, Narrow Mini, and Profile Series are excellent selections. When clean water supply is available, our TrimLine Water Cooled Series is recommended for environments with high ambient temperatures and contaminated air. In certain applications where the only prospect for installation is on the top of the cabinet, the Advantage, Horizontal Super Mini, and Compact Plus Series are available to satisfy your requirements. The Intrepid Series is optimal for high-capacity outdoor applications.
If you have an older Kooltronic air conditioner or a competitor's unit that needs replacement, we provide adaptor plates and plenums to minimize cabinet modifications, facilitating easier transitions.
Kooltronic Enclosure Air Conditioners are engineered for dependable performance and longevity. All relevant components are UL/CSA Listed or Recognized. Our enclosure cooling units are developed internally utilizing a collaborative 3D design method, with 2D and 3D drawings available for your design specifications.
Kooltronic employs revision-controlled, paperless manufacturing documentation to guarantee consistency and quality. Our facility in New Jersey utilizes robotic sheet metal fabrication, an automated powder paint line, and continuously formed tubing bending equipment to minimize refrigerant leak risks. Bar-coded evacuation and charging, alongside final inspection testing, is standard for all cooling systems before they are dispatched to our clients.
Kooltronic also designs and manufactures a variety of air conditioners to meet unique specifications. We welcome inquiries regarding our quick-response modification and custom design cooling system capabilities.

Air Conditioners for Electrical Cabinets: A Comprehensive Overview
Introduction
Have you ever considered the temperature within your electrical cabinets? It’s a crucial aspect for the health of your equipment. Air conditioners for electrical cabinets keep things cool and maintain optimal performance. Let’s dive into what they are and their significance.
Key Features of Electrical Cabinet Air Conditioners
Construction and Design
These air conditioners are built to endure. They utilize robust materials like sheet steel, ensuring durability and toughness. Additionally, they come with protection ratings such as IP54 for indoor use and IP55 for outdoor use, making them suitable for various environments.
Learn more about What is the difference between IP54 and IP65?
Materials and Protection Ratings
The materials utilized are of high quality and robust. The sheet steel construction resists damage, while the protection ratings confirm their suitability for various applications, with IP54 units ideal for indoor use and capable of withstanding outdoor conditions.
Dust and Moisture Prevention
Preventing dust and moisture is essential. These air conditioners are tailored for this purpose, featuring special coatings resistant to dust and moisture, thereby safeguarding internal components and maintaining their proper functionality.
Cooling Mechanism
The cooling system is efficient and effective, employing a dual-air circuit system, which means there are two distinct airflows.
Learn more about Air Cooling Versus Liquid Cooling for Industrial Enclosures.
Dual Air Circuit System
One air stream circulates inside the cabinet, keeping it cool, while the other pulls in outside air, cools it, and releases it back out, ensuring that internal and external air does not mix. This arrangement keeps the interior of the cabinet clean and maintains a stable temperature.
Temperature Control
Maintaining the right temperature is crucial. These air conditioners include digital thermostats that allow you to set the temperature to your desired level, usually between 20°C and 45°C. This is essential for keeping your equipment operating at optimal temperatures.

Advanced Features of Electrical Cabinet Air Conditioners
Digital Thermostat
These air conditioners are equipped with digital thermostats for easy temperature adjustment, typically ranging from 20°C to 45°C, thereby helping you maintain the perfect temperature for your equipment.
Continuous Air Circulation
The internal fan runs continuously, ensuring air circulation and preventing hot spots. Even airflow guarantees that your equipment remains cool and operates efficiently.
Flow Diverters and Filters
Flow diverters are especially beneficial as they direct air away from sensitive components, protecting key parts. Filters are critical as well, trapping dust and dirt before they enter the air conditioner, helping maintain cleanliness and smooth operation.
Alarm Systems
Incorporated alarm systems are a fantastic feature, monitoring cabinet temperatures. If temperatures climb too high, alarms notify users, alerting them to potential issues before they escalate.
RS485 Connection Interface
This feature enables remote monitoring; you can connect the air conditioner to your system to control it from afar, simplifying temperature management.
Benefits of Using Air Conditioners for Electrical Cabinets
Enhanced Equipment Lifespan
Air conditioners contribute to longer equipment lifespans by preventing overheating that can damage components. Keeping temperatures down effectively extends the life of your devices.
Preventing Overheating
Overheating is a major challenge for electrical equipment, leading to failures and breakdowns. Air conditioners manage temperatures, thus averting these complications.
