Padel Courts: Design, Installation, and Testing
The process of setting up a padel court involves several stages, and Italgreen guides clients through each step:
1. Feasibility Study
The initial phase is about analyzing all constraints:
- Landscape and noise regulations
- Urban planning (distances, lighting, restrooms, parking)
- Utility networks (electric lines, gas pipes, sewage systems)
- Logistics (access for trucks and concrete mixers)
This step concludes with a commercial offer and an initial design outline.
Do I Need a Permit?
Yes, padel courts are considered constructions and require permits from local authorities. The type of permit varies by municipality and must be handled by a licensed professional.
Does Italgreen Handle Permits?
Clients are responsible for obtaining permits with the assistance of a licensed professional. Italgreen provides support by supplying the necessary materials and documentation to facilitate the process.
2. Project Development
During this phase, professional technicians prepare the following project documentation:
- Architectural planning for permits and other construction licenses.
- Structural design of the foundation or slab.
- Electrical system design for proper lighting.
This stage ends with a signed contract and confirmed order.
What Is the Minimum Space Needed?
A single padel court requires a minimum free space of 20.50m x 10.50m, with the foundation occupying 21m x 11m (or 21m x 14m if technical areas are included).
Can Two Courts Be Joined?
Due to the nature of padel, where walls are an integral part of play, courts cannot be joined without leaving at least a 10 cm gap between them.
Is My Existing Slab Usable?
The appointed technician will need to verify if the existing foundation meets the structural requirements for installing a padel court.
3. Construction Phase
Once the project is approved and permits are in place, construction begins:
- Site preparation
- Work supervision to ensure proper execution and safety.
- Foundation and electrical work
- Installation of the padel court
The process concludes with a work completion report.
What Are the Construction Steps?
Steps include site preparation, slab formation with electrical conduit placement, concrete pouring, and padel court installation.
What Is the Time Frame for Installation?
Installation of the court structure is quick, usually taking 3-5 days. However, the concrete foundation requires about 28 days to reach full strength.
4. Testing and Approval
The final step includes collecting all necessary documentation to start using the court:
- Technical files (product data sheets, certifications)
- Filing with relevant authorities
- Issuance of certifications and warranties
Is the Padel Court Certified by the FIP?
Yes, Italgreen's padel courts meet FIP construction standards and can be officially certified upon request.

Structural characteristics of the Full Panoramic padel court
The enclosure of the court is formed by a self-supporting structure with structural tube, closed and anchored with two lower and upper perimeter rings, made of 5mm structural sheet. Painted galvanized steel or coated with oven-baked epoxy polyester resin. 50x50x4mm galvanized electrowelded mesh with seamless delivery. Frames formed with structural tube with a thickness of 2mm according to specifications, 3 horizontal crossbars made of 40x5mm plate for anti-buckling, premium finish that offers a perfect view without any structural element around the entire perimeter of the glass with customized elements in net posts, entrance doors and structural elements.
padelcourtfactory supply professional and honest service.
Double or single option available.
Structure color to be chosen by the customer.
Approved 12 mm tempered glass for panoramic backgrounds and for the sides.
In the case of side windows, this court can be mounted 2 large 2x3m glasses, the same measure as the funds or the traditional system. All of them installed on 5 mm neoprene to reduce vibrations and breaks.
The manufacturing process for all this tempered glass is manufactured using a standardized production process and in compliance with the UNE EN 1 standard.
· Ability to withstand tensile stress, with a strength greater than that of annealed glass.
· In the event of breakage, tempered glass disintegrates into small fragments that do not cause serious sharp or lacerating wounds, such as those that would cause the sharp edges of small pieces of annealed glass.
· These characteristics make tempered glass a good option for human safety, especially since it does not break into sharp or large fragments.
· Tempered glass has four times the mechanical strength of annealed glass.
The metallic elements are coated with polyester paint, a thermosetting powder formulated with polyester resins. This finish, in the color desired by the customer, provides these elements with good resistance to corrosion and ultraviolet rays, in addition to being very resistant to mechanical impacts.
Once the powder paint has been applied electrostatically to the surface of the material, the pieces are transferred to an oven where they are heated to a temperature between 180ºC-200ºC, in which polymerization occurs.
In coastal/maritime areas where salt spray forms that, driven by the wind, creates conditions of high risk of corrosion. (especially in the first 100m), we applied a set of extra actions that involve protecting the metal structure of the court against corrosion.
The structure can be painted with the RAL that the customer decides, optionally the court can be painted in 2 shades, for example, the poles of the bulbs can go with another color.
LED lighting with 8 bulbs of 150w or 200w specially designed for our padel courts.
According to the NIDE regulations, the lighting of a padel court will be uniform and in such a way that it does not hinder the vision of the players, the refereeing team or the spectators.
We comply with the UNE EN standard “Lighting for sports facilities”.
The advantages of LED projectors for paddle tennis courts:
· Instant ignition, this way you can make the most of the player's time on the court, unlike traditional halide bulbs that take time
achieve maximum luminosity.
· Low heat emission, highly recommended on indoor padel courts due to its small size.
· Compliance with the lighting regulations of the International Paddle Federation.
· Energy savings, our LED projectors save up to 65% energy compared to traditional halide bulbs.
