The roller feeder is only suitable for the output shaft of various types of punching machines. The feeding width and feeding step are strictly limited. Usually, the material width is greater than 500mm or the feeding step is greater than 300mm, and the roller feeder cannot be selected.

However, the roller feeder also has its advantages, that is, it has a high-speed model, and the maximum feeding speed can reach 500 times/min, with a high-speed punch.

The NC servo feeder is not only suitable for all kinds of punching machines, but also can be used with various processing equipment such as hydraulic presses, shearing machines, laser cutting machines, etc. The feeding width and feeding step distance are unlimited, and the degree of customization is high. It uses proportional roller feeding. The device should be wide.However, the CNC servo feeder is not suitable for high-speed feeding due to the response time of the servo motor.

1. The type of NC feeder is selected by the thickness of the material. At present, the NC feeder produced in China is divided into three types: thin plate 0-2.2mm, medium plate 0-3.2mm, and thick plate 0-4.5mm according to the thickness of the material. , Relatively speaking, the thicker the thickness that can be achieved, the higher the price. ​​

2. Choose mechanical relaxation and pneumatic relaxation according to the different speed and matching equipment. The pneumatic NC feeder realizes the compression and relaxation of the roller group through the scaling of the cylinder fixed on the inner wall of the feeder. When it is in use, it can be matched with more equipment, not only can it be used with punching machine for punching and feeding, but also can be used with shearing machine for material blanking production. However, the reaction time of pneumatic relaxation is relatively long, so it is not suitable for short-step high-speed feeding production.

The rolls raise and lower on a pivot, rather than up and down in a slide block, to ensure full gear mesh regardless of the thickness of the material.

The roll pressure is applied by two adjustable-stroke pneumatic cylinders. Roll pressure is adjusted by a supplied regulator. The same cylinders are also used for the pilot release of the upper feed roll. These cylinders are positioned well past the center point of the rolls to provide leverage for optimum pressure to the roll.

4-Roll Servo Feed

4-roll servo feeds from Universal Feed & Machine can be a good choice when running wide, lighter gauge material. Since four rolls contact the material instead of two, the per-roll pressure can be reduced. For sensitive materials where not marking or stretching the material is critical, a 4-roll feed may be the best choice.

These feeds benefit from a few construction advantages worth noting:

  • The upper feed rolls are trunion-mounted (i.e., rolls pivot rather than go straight up and down as with a slide block design). Trunion mounted upper rolls are the standard on heavy-duty two-roll feeds as they increase the mechanical advantage of the roll and maintain complete gear mesh at all times.
  • Upper rolls work together or independently. Unlike some other 4-roll feeds, Universal Feed & Machine four-roll servo feeds allow all four feed rolls to work together or independently. This adds flexibility to the line.
