1. Coating the Titanium Substrate
The initial step involves applying the coating liquid onto the titanium substrate, which can be done by brush coating, electrostatic spraying, or roller coating techniques.
2. Baking the Coated Titanium
After each coating application, the titanium is baked under an infrared or far-infrared lamp at temperatures ranging between 100 and 200°C. This process helps in the slow volatilization of the solvent, ensuring complete evaporation. If not properly volatilized, it could negatively affect the coating adhesion and the electrode's electrochemical performance.
3. Thermal Oxidation
The final step involves thermal oxidation, where the coated titanium is calcined in a furnace at a specified temperature for 25-30 minutes. An optimal range is crucial; if overheated, chlorine content diminishes, degrading coating conductivity and electrochemical performance. Conversely, low thermal oxidation results in incomplete oxidation and poor binding, hampering the required electrocatalytic properties.
The oxidation temperature significantly influences the coating's structure, composition, and performance. Generally, temperatures above 400°C yield RuO2 and TiO2 solid solutions with a rutile structure. When using platinum group metal oxides like RuO2, the atmosphere must be oxidizing as a reducing atmosphere is unsuitable.

Ensuring Quality Titanium Electrode Products
Creating a high-quality titanium electrode product at HS METAL isn’t as straightforward. Initially, the metal surface is roughened to enhance the coating's adhesion to the metal. Effective adhesion is paramount for a superior MMO titanium electrode.
Selecting the Right Titanium Materials
HS METAL is meticulous in choosing titanium materials. We select titanium with a smooth surface and then roughen it. If the initial titanium is impure, surface scratches can lead to uneven coating and reduced lifespan. Thus, choosing a smooth titanium surface initially and roughening it to improve coating adhesion is critical. This process significantly extends the lifespan of the titanium electrode.
After sandblasting, although the surface appears rough, it absorbs more coating solution. Hence, product quality improves and service life is extended.
This technique is intricate. A rougher titanium surface consumes more precious metal coating liquid, but at HS METAL, we strive to deliver higher-quality products. We aim to become a larger, better, and stronger company, and are committed to consistently providing high-quality output. We look forward to partnering with you.
